Student Bursaries

In recognition of the ongoing importance of postgraduate student participation within the AAANZ organisation and annual conference, the ANU School of Art and 2016 Conference Committee has generously offered to provide ten postgraduate student bursaries.
These postgraduate student bursaries will comprise five conference registration and five accommodation packages. The awarded applicants will receive either a registration bursary or an accommodation bursary bringing the total number of successful applicants to ten.
Registration bursaries will provide awarded applicants with student registration for the AAANZ2016 Conference. Accommodation bursaries will provide awarded applicants accommodation in one of the ANU School of Art ‘flats’ for the period November 28 to December 6th, 2016.
To apply for one of the ten postgraduate student bursaries please send the following information to sarah.scott@anu.edu.au
  • a completed student bursary application form;
  • a statement (approx. 300 words) outlining which sessions you intend to attend, why you want to attend the conference and how it will contribute to your study program or ongoing research;
  • a one page CV (please do NOT provide referees); and,
  • if you wish to be considered for the accommodation bursaries please identify your proposed length of stay in Canberra.

Before applying please review the eligibility criteria below.
  • You will be a current Postgraduate student (including MA, MFA, PHD) or recent graduate. Recent graduates will have completed their postgraduate studies within the last eighteen months (i.e. no earlier than February 2015);
  • You will be or agree to become a member of AAANZ;
  • You intend to participate in the AAANZ 2016 Conference, either as a speaker at the Postgraduate Student Day (Dec 1) or in the main conference program (Dec 2-3), or both; and,
  • You intend to attend the AAANZ 2016 Conference in its entirety (Dec 1-3)
