new directions for aaanz journal

As the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand approaches its 40th anniversary I’m delighted to announce a number of significant changes for our Journal of Art.

A new publisher

In 2014 we will partner the international publisher Taylor & Francis, allowing us to maintain the highest standards of scholarship into the 21st century while streamlining production. The change will give our journal online global reach while members will continue to receive a hard copy.

A new editorial committee

Our new editorial committee is to be hosted by Power Professor Mark Ledbury, Power Institute, The University of Sydney who will be working with Dr Keith Broadfoot, also from the Power Institute, Dr Jacqueline Millner, Sydney College of the Arts, Professor Peter McNeil, University of Technology, Dr Georgina Cole, National Art School and Dr Donna West Brett, Art Gallery of NSW, as reviews editor, who will coordinate a network of regional reviewers across Australasia. The editorial committee will shortly announce submission dates and special issues.

& a new advisory board

In 2014 the Journal of Art will announce an international advisory board consisting of distinguished art historians. Their expertise will be invaluable on matters of editorial planning, and their advice will be sought for external peer refereeing, ensuring contributors receive academic accreditation.
