Their purpose is to ensure the humanities, arts and social sciences thrive and excel in Australia, by fostering an inclusive and diverse community that supports, empowers and promotes Australian early and mid-career researchers, within and beyond academia. The National Library of Australia will not have sufficient funding to maintain the current online Trove service after June 2023. Trove is often used as a free, online portal which connects with collections around the country. It contains many digitised resources vital for researching the past, including a collection of Australian newspapers. There have been online petitions asking the Federal Government to ensure Trove has funding into the future. There is now also a Parliamentary Petition which will close for signature this Wednesday 22 February 2023.
