Visual Arts in the 21st Century: from Museum to Cyberspace

The School of Fine Arts, Classical Studies and Archaeology, The University of Melbourne, hosted the 2001 Visual Arts in the 21st Century: from Museum to Cyberspace, the annual conference of the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand, awarded as the 2001 ‘University Conference of the Year’. The AAANZ conference was last held at the University of Melbourne in 1986.
The conference will feature current research by distinguished international and local scholars. Keynote speakers include: Barbara Stafford, the William B. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor of Art History, University of Chicago; Ihab Hassan, Vilas Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee; Howard Morphy, Professor and Director of the Centre for Cross-Cultural Research, The Australian National University; Marcia Langton, Professor and Chair of Indigenous Studies, The University of Melbourne; Barbara Creed, Associate Professor and Head of Cinema Studies, The University of Melbourne and Philip Goad, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean/Associate Dean (Research), Faculty of Architecture, The University of Melbourne.
