Author and/or Editor bio/s Peter Vangioni is a curator at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. A letterpress printer by night, he has hand-printed limited-edition books of lyrics by Peter Stapleton and Michael Morley. He is drummer in Christchurch band Purple Mountain Eagle. Russell Brown writes on a range of topics for his website Public Address and various mainstream publications. Kath Webster is a musician, artist and journalist. Based in Auckland, she edits a national magazine.  Roger Shepherd founded Flying Nun Records in Christchurch in 1981.

Entertaining essays from Peter Vangioni, Kath Webster, Russell Brown and Flying Nun founder Roger Shepherd are interspersed with brief interview-style contributions from some of the people responsible for creating the art of the label. Heavily illustrated, it features original artwork for the records and posters, photography from the archives, and rarely seen vinyl releases and posters.
