The AIAH Art History Research Grants are funded by the Australian Institute of Art History and are offered in partnership with the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand.
The AIAH Art History Research Grants are open to an art historian, early career researcher or PhD student in Art History in one of the following categories:
- Institutional art historian (i.e. working in an academic or cultural institution such as a university, art museum, public library)
- Independent art historian
- Emerging art historian (PhD student or Early Career Researcher in Art History i.e. PhD granted no earlier than 1 January 2016)
- Indigenous Australian, New Zealand Maori or Pasifika art historian

The AIAH Art History Research Grants are now open for 2022. There will be four grants offered of $5,000.

Eligibility and Criteria
To be eligible you must be a current PhD student, Early Career Researcher or an Art Historian in Australia or New Zealand.

Please use this form and you will need to include the following:
- Name and contact details
- Name your AAANZ membership is under
- Project Title
- Description of outlining project Description of your project including rationale, significance and resources required (300 to 500 words)
- Literature review Outline current scholarship, positions the applicant’s project within current research and explains its point of difference (300 to 500 words)
- Budget Statement outlining a clear rationale for the budget expenditure and how it will progress and/or support the project (no more than 250 words). Upload a budget no more than one page includes notes against line items outlining relevance to the project.
- Two academic references Please include name and contact details.
- Curriculum vitae No more than one page
- Letters of support Required from participating institutions if collaborations, workshops or events with other institutions are part of the project (if applicable)
