Established in 1888, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is a leading visual arts institution in New Zealand with more than 17,500 artworks and over 150 archival collections.

Audiences are at the heart of Gallery activities, which extend from our redeveloped and expanded site in the arts and learning precinct of inner-city Auckland.
The key purpose of this role is to efficiently manage the Collection Services team and is an opportunity for an experienced Collections Manager.
You will bring your senior level experience of working in a Museum or Gallery environment and you will have excellent knowledge of national and international principles, practices, standards and ethics in the management of art collections.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Collection and exhibition services management to ensure appropriate management policies and procedures are in place for all artworks in the Gallery’s care, including temporary exhibition loans.
- Provide long-term planning for the Gallery’s collection and exhibition management programmes
- Lead and manage projects and programmes
- Manage team budgets and reporting
- Work collaboratively with other division and teams on a project basis to deliver high quality innovative Gallery activities and programmes.
- Supervision of key specialist teams; conservation, registration, exhibition design and technicians.
