Abstract
Darren Sylvester has developed a unique practice over the past two decades, working across photography, video, installation, performance and music. This volume (including flexi-disc) covers thematically the breadth of his oeuvre, drawing out some of the artist’s primary concerns: hopes and dreams, middle-class conundrums, the banality of work, loss and longing, love and romance, fear of death.
Featuring major essays by Anthony Carew and Maggie Finch, the publication also includes statements by the artist on selected works, as well as contributions from authors offering a range of perspectives. Darren Sylvester: Carve a Future, Devour Everything, Become Something is a timely record of the work of a singular Australian artist.
