Launch of ‘Archipelagic Encounters’, Currents first Special Issue

‘Archipelagic Encounters’ includes contributions by early career researchers from McNally School of Fine Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore and the University of Melbourne. This special issue reflects the diverse networked relations between artistic practices and art histories that move across and within the Asia-Pacific. Set against the backdrop of the pandemic ‘Archipelagic Encounters’ is an experiment in island encounters of the digital turn, among people geographically separated by water and socially separated by their respective lockdown conditions. The issue includes artistic and art historical contributions by Duncan Caillard, Pratibha Nambiar, Genevieve Trail, Zoya Chaudhary, Nurdiana Rahmat, Kezia Yap and Lizzie Wee and is edited by Elyssia Bugg, Jeremy Eaton and Chloe ho.
