About the Role
As an Academic Specialist within the Art History and Curatorship Program at the University of Melbourne, you will enrich the curriculum with your industry experience. You will have a primary focus on teaching, with additional opportunities for pedagogical and academic research, industry consultation, and leadership and service within the program.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Subject coordination including curriculum development, assessment preparation, and tutor supervision.
- Delivery of lectures, tutorials, and seminars.
- Curriculum design and innovation, with a focus on cross-disciplinary and industry-related approaches.
- Scholarly activity supporting teaching and research in the discipline.
Who We Are Looking For
You will come to the role with demonstrated excellence in teaching, including syllabus design and coordination, and a capacity to engage with culturally diverse materials and audiences. You demonstrate potential for pedagogical, academic, or industry research that enhances teaching practice, as well as excellent organisation, professionalism, and a passion to contribute to university life.
You will also have:
- PhD in Art History, Art Curatorship, or a cognate discipline
- Ability to teach various subject areas within the discipline
- Capacity to engage with culturally diverse materials and audiences
- Experience in syllabus/curriculum design and subject coordination
