About the Role
You will serve as a Lecturer within the Art History and Curatorship Program, focusing on Art Curatorial Studies. You’ll play a pivotal role in advancing the program’s teaching and research objectives, benefiting from a rich history of leadership in the field and extensive cultural resources at the University of Melbourne.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Subject coordination, delivery of lectures and seminars, curriculum design, and technology-based teaching and assessment program development.
- Producing research outputs, securing research grants, graduate research supervision, and public engagement.
- Active participation in service, leadership, and coordination roles, committee engagement, and fostering national and international institutional partnerships
Who We Are Looking For
You possess clear expertise in curatorial practice and contemporary issues within the art industry and demonstrable commitment to teaching excellence. You take an inclusive approach to diverse student cohorts as you design teaching programs and supervise student research in line with your strong research background. You take an organised, collaborative, and professional approach to your contributions to university life.
You will also have:
- A completed PhD in Art History, Art Curatorship, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curatorial practice, with the ability to engage with contemporary issues in the field and relate this knowledge to teaching and research.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including curriculum design and subject/module coordination.
- Deep understanding of diverse student orientations and the ability to create inclusive learning environments tailored to their needs.
