Art and crime have always intersected in Australian art history and culture, from early convict artists to contemporary thefts, forgeries, and the illicit trade of cultural artifacts. Some of our most famous artworks are centred on outlaws, like Nolan’s Ned Kelly series; others document and critique our legal systems, taking up colonial violence, corruption, and the fight to find justice for marginalized communities. Call for artists | 6th Tamworth Textile Triennial | Deadline 5 May

Expressions of Interest to have artworks exhibited in the 6th Tamworth Textile Triennial will close at 5pm (AEST), Monday 5 May, 2025. This is a major national touring exhibition showcasing and celebrating textile-based artworks. The Triennial is held every three years and typically features textile art from across Australia, created by either emerging or established artists. Artists are invited to express their interest via an online form.
