Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art Call for Papers: Open Issue
The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art (ANZJA) invites submissions for its next open issue, to be published in July 2027.
ANZJA is Australasia’s principal refereed art history journal, published by Taylor & Francis in association with the Art Association of Australia and New Zealand (AAANZ). The journal provides a forum for scholarship across art history, art theory, art historiography, and curating.
The editors welcome research that engages with critical debates across historical periods and fields of art theoretical enquiry. We invite original research articles addressing art, visual culture, critical debates, theoretical frameworks and methodologies, with particular interest in work concerning Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.
We also welcome monographs by Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand authors for consideration for review.
ANZJA publishes research articles of 5,000–7,000 words, including endnotes. Research articles undergo double-blind peer review.
For further information on submission requirements, style and peer review, please consult the ANZJA submission guidelines. Enquiries may be directed to the Managing Editor, Toby Broughton, at tobias.broughton@uq.edu.au
