Event | Looking both ways: Art exchanges between Australia and Indonesia | John Curtin Gallery

Prompted by the exhibition Pasar Malam | Night Market, and staged in association with Curtin University’s School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Enquiry, this half-day seminar explores the relationships between Australia and Indonesia around contemporary art. Starting with a focus on the Artists’ Regional Exchange (ARX) series of events in Perth from 1987 to 1999, it will go on to explore current engagements between the two countries and opportunities to develop the relationship in the future.

Featuring speakers from Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre, the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, and the John Curtin Gallery.
