Position overview

The position will contribute to teaching and research supervision within this dynamic institution. The ANU School of Art & Design fosters an environment to support individual and collaborative research and the position will undertake education development and delivery of coursework in the Bachelor and Master program in the Visual Arts, which are taught alongside the Design and Art History and Theory programs, as well as supervision in the corresponding research programs. It will promote cross-disciplinary partnerships to generate new forms of visual arts practice and research; current research themes include: frontiers of digital printing, projection technologies, high resolution data capture and display, analogue/digital crossovers, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The ANU offers an unmatched setting for developing future research projects and collaborations. The programs taught at the ANU School of Art & Design are a combination of engaged hands on production and leading-edge digital practice, unique in the Australian tertiary sector.

The successful candidate will have a personal research profile based on an active creative research practice relating to and furthering the field of visual arts.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest single College of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both.
