As part of an ambitious new vision and growth strategy, the Faculty of Arts at Monash University now seeks to appoint a number of outstanding Professors to join the Faculty. Our goal is to continue positioning the Faculty of Arts as a global leader and innovator in the Asia-Pacific region. We invite applicants who share a passion for research, teaching, and engagement to play an active leadership role in building a greater Monash Arts Faculty and implementing our Faculty Strategy.

We are currently seeking applicants with teaching and research expertise spanning a number of areas:

  • School of Social Sciences (Three positions) – Politics; Political leadership; Global public policy; International relations.
  • School of Languages, Literature, Cultures and the Linguistics (One position) – Indonesia; Indonesian culture; Indonesian politics.
  • School of Media, Film and Journalism (Four positions) – Applications are invited across a number of areas including, but not limited to the following: Digital and mobile media, algorithmic accountabilities, AI and facial recognition technologies, data journalism; Global cultural, screen and creative industries; Media, politics and the environment, including feminist media and sexualities.
